We have 2 locations one on the corner of 51st and North ave. and the other is Beloit road a half block west of 60th St.

•How much will it cost?

It depends.  Transmissions are very complex with numerous electrical and mechanical systems. You may just need a simple Tune-up or you may need a quality Dunham Transmissions Rebuilt Transmission.  Just like every person is different each car has its own special needs we take the time to ensure your vehicle gets only what it needs.

•Can you tell me what's wrong with my car?

Sure. We offer free road testing for most vehicles because most problems can be quickly diagnosed with a simple test drive.  We also have computerized diagnostics for a minimal fee.

•How long will it take?

Many simple repairs can be completed within a few hours, however more complex repairs such as rebuilding and installing a transmission can take anywhere from 1-4 days.

•Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept cash, debit cards, Master card, Visa, and Discover. (Sorry no American Express)

•Do you offer 24 hour towing?

Yes, you can call N&S Towing at 414-476-8697.  The tow charge will then be placed on your bill.

•Do you work on older vehicles?

Yes, we can fix most anything as long as we can get parts for it.  Parts are still available for most vehicles from 1950 and up, but we do work on vehicles older than that. 

•Are you part of a franchise?

No, we have been locally owned and operated by the Dunham family since 1958.

•Do you do other automotive repairs?

Just what's listed in services but we will gladly refer you to someone who can help you if you call.

•What is a transmission tune up?

A transmission tune up is a maintenance procedure much like changing your engine oil. It’s something that should be done about once a year or whatever your owners manuel recommends. It removes about a quarter of your transmission fluid, your transmission pan gasket, and your transmission filter ( on most vehicles).

•Will a transmission tune up fix my problem?

A transmission tune up is a maintenance thing.  If you’re having a problem it’s something you can try, but don’t count on it solving your entire problem.  Mostly it’s a temporary fix.
